Your first examination visit with us is planned to thoroughly understand your concerns, hear about difficulties with treatment in the past, and to find any signs of disease that can become a problem with your health or the appearance of your smile. The visit begins with a series of photographs that are used to discuss your concerns and begin the examination. Next, a detailed examination will review all dental systems from esthetic desires, interaction of jaw muscles, TMJs and bite function, oral cancer screening, periodontal (gum) health, and dental conditions.
By seeking causative factors underlying a problem, future problems are often avoided and the care we provide can be longer lasting. Records found to be needed, such as xrays or impressions, are then made. Depending upon our findings and your concerns, a consultation appointment may be planned at a later date after records have been studied.
